InternetFM is now free!
For better or for worse, our generation of baby boomers grew up with awesome radio, hosted by great personalities, which was over-the-air and ostensibly free. It was paid for by advertisements and most listeners didn’t seem to mind the commercial breaks. More good tunes were moments away.
Then corporate radio took over, and things were never the same.
Stations lost their identity as formats were copied from city to city. Worse still, those spot breaks grew to five minutes long, twice an hour.
We created independent stations like Handcrafted Radio, Radio Free Phoenix, and our own Acid Flashback ten to fifteen years ago with the goal of bringing back quality rock and roll.
The low cost of streaming allowed us to offer the music without commercials. We built the internetFM app as an ad-free way to enjoy streaming radio. We hoped our listeners would be willing to pay a nominal monthly fee in exchange for no ads.
However, our efforts to take an HBO-like approach and offer a subscription-based service didn’t quite work out as we expected. Our listeners still expect it to be free.
So we have decided to make the app free and open to everyone!
Registration is no longer required. Simply click on the app and choose a station.
Use the search button to choose from our fifty stations, and now assign them to all 18 of our preset buttons.
So if you haven’t listened in a while, tune in again.

InternetFM is also available for Apple TV, and our newly updated mac OS version. The best way to view the app is in the “At A Glance” mode.
We hope to have a PC version very soon.

One last item. We are in the process of making available our back catalog of long-form radio shows to our premium subscribers. Any listener with a subscription to InternetFM will be able to access episodes as often as they like through our apps and our website. We want to give our listeners their money’s worth.
